Everything was perfect from the initial consult through the post op process. HSS is amazing and i was very happy with the whole experience. I was nervous about the hip replacement but everyone made it as easy as could be. I could not recommend Dr. McLawhorn and HSS more !

Over two years, Dr. McLawhorn replaced both hips and the outcome has been excellent. Prior to surgery, my hip condition was bone-on-bone with osteoarthritis. I had nerve and muscle pain which impacted movement and limited physical activity. Even walking was painful at worst or uncomfortable at best. Post surgeries, I am pain-free and exercise daily, mainly fast walking, bicycling, weights, and pilates/yoga. I have given up running to preserve the longevity of the devices, but next season I will test them on groomed blue and black ski runs. Dr. McLawhorn is exactly what I wanted in a medical specialist: straightforward and, following his post-surgery protocol, delivered results that were better than I could have imagined. His team is professional and responsive, and my experience at HSS, including an attentive hospital staff, was terrific.

Total hip replacement (THR) was done by Dr. McLawhorn. His work is amazing, there was no pain and an easy recovery. The appointment was not rushed, he listens to your concerns and explains everything.

Dr. McLawhorn is the best. It is 2 months since my THR and I can do everything now that I did before. I never took painkillers, just tylenol for a few days. Never had any pain at all. The staff is so wonderful, both in person and on the phone. They answered my many questions and were always pleasant and helpful. Thanks you everyone for making what seemed like a frightening procedure so easy and pain free.
