Dr. Alexander Sonkin, MD

A change in insurance forced me to leave Dr. Sonkin after 33 years of being my primary physician. The new doctor kept pushing meds to control my blood pressure, despite having severe side effects (weakness and swollen legs). I went to see Dr. Sonkin and he reviewed my meds and adjusted them - thereby getting rid of more than half, which he said was unnecessary and were actually harming me. Just like that, my symptoms fell away and I was revived.

He is not a 'warm and fuzzy' personality, but is very thorough in answering all of my concerns. He has always been available on short notice. There have been times when I have questions and he never rushes me through an office visit. The co-pay cost is minimal compared to other doctors. There is rarely any wait time to see him. Dr. Sonkin and his staff make me feel like I am their only patient.

I've been going to Dr Sonkin for over 20 years ! He has been available and helpful always! He's also very accurate and doesn't send you for unnecessary tests and tries to save us money!

Not helpful. Family member saw this Dr 1 time. Staff is very disorganized and has a very lack-luster attitude toward getting things done.
