I was recently seen at the emergency department for a seizure/seizure like activity. I’ve never felt compelled to review a healthcare provider until this unfortunate event. During a suspected seizure, I was shocked and disturbed to find that he attested that I was faking foaming at the mouth. Making a claim such as that is not only a disturbing assertion, but assumptions such as those are what make patients feel frightened and apprehensive to seek help in life threatening situations. I hope for the sake of future patients that you develop and grow throughout your career as an emergency physician, because a great deal of my faith in the medical system was lost that day. I wish you the best, and I hope this allows you to somewhat recognize how statements such as yours result in further damage to patients who are experiencing traumatic situations and look to trained professionals for help. I hope you have a successful career, and that your future patients receive the compassion and… professionalism that I so sorely lacked.
