Dr. Alexander W. Threlfall, MD

I am deeply concerned by the substandard care Heidi received from Dr. Threlfall during a critical mental health crisis. Following voluntary inpatient treatment at Marin Health, she was transferred to the IOP program under Dr. Threlfall’s supervision. Unfortunately, she was not provided a formal or individualized treatment plan—only told to stop drinking alcohol, despite being a moderate drinker. A non-FDA-approved test was ordered without proper explanation or follow-up. Despite repeated attempts, Heidi could not meet with Dr. Threlfall for two weeks, and test results were posted without context. Her questions were met with dismissiveness, and she was abruptly removed from the program after raising valid concerns. Most troubling, Dr. Threlfall failed to continue Heidi’s verified psychiatric prescriptions, leaving her without necessary medication during a vulnerable period. At 69, Heidi deserved compassionate, professional care—not neglect. I strongly urge Marin Health to review this… case and take appropriate action.

He hates the elderly with a passion. He was not supposed to be at the VA. If it was not for a caring individual, he would still be there. Bad enough they still have a part time psychiatrist who makes fun of all of her patients but this one makes cocktails out of the veteran's meds! Did it to my family of vets and have heard he helped in getting rid of the caring employee. The previous doctors (Dr. Cotter and Dr. Compton) were not like this one. They cared and would follow up with phone calls to the patients. Shame he's still practicing! He should be sent packing back to the UK! By the way, he even admitted he was not supposed to be in the US! He was considered a danger. And the VA hires him! Please again -- save your elderly loved ones from this Mr. Hyde!

I had known this "doctor" when he was working for the VA. He manipulated my father's medication by making him more tired than usual. My father was being treated by a psychiatrist that was no longer at the VA and was miraculously his old self that I had not seen for many years. Dr. Threlfall would smile when we spoke of negative, alarming issues. He would not allow me to speak at all in what way the medications were affecting him. I am his doctor not yours attitude would come out. I cannot believe people will claim he is a great doctor. Please be aware. Sonoma County, California should not be allowing this person to medicate our citizens, especially the elderly. He's narcissistic if anything!
