Dr. Alexander Vogel Uihlein, MD

After seeing another endo at this practice years prior and battling them as to my needs, I was hesitant to go back there but I am so, so happy I gave Dr. Uihlein a chance!! I am someone who doesn't tolerate medications the oral way. I needed to find someone who was familiar with Compounded Medicines. Dr. Uihlein may not have been that familiar with it before, but he listened to me and worked with me. He now seems very fluent in Compounded Medicine and I am that much the better for it!! Can't recommend him enough, a life saver!!!

Highly recommend this doctor! He cares about his patients and looks at the bigger picture to try to figure out what is wrong with you. He calls to check in and make sure treatments are working. One of the best doctors out there!

So I had all but given up. I had been to several doctors and they all said the same thing... 'oh well". NOT THIS GUY! Yes I committed to taking time and coming back for visits but he has helped me. I feel better.

As a patient with chronic endocrine issues I have 55 years' varied exposures to a myriad of physicians. Dr. Alexander Uihlein seems to me to be not only trained, disciplined and experienced in the complexities of medical science but also has an abundance of the other half of the patient's needs: bedside manner. In short order it became clear that this doctor listened to my needs, cared, considered the big picture. Kudos and gratitude! I give him 5 stars, despite some challenges experienced with the office support staff.

My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Uihlein after bloodwork indicated an overactive thyroid. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and the staff at Chicago Lake Shore Medical Associates (please note that Dr. Uihlein is practicing in Chicago, not Boston) were professional and pleasant. I found Dr. Uihlein to be personable, caring, thorough, and respectful. I feel like I'm in good hands and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others in need of an endocrinologist. Also, the office location (676 N. St. Clair) is convenient should your condition require more testing, since it's located on the Northwestern Memorial Hospital campus.
