Dr. Alexander Vuckovic, MD

Dr. Vuckovic charges far too much for far too little in return. He dropped me as a patient suddenly and illegimately after only a month or two and wouldn't even do me the courtesy of making the referrals and introducing the therapies we'd agreed together. His business model, his clinical approach, his supplements business, and his other practices are extremely suspect. Don't waste your time and your money on him. He won't offer you the level or type of care you think he will. His scheduling arrangements are absurdly restrictive and hostile to the type of care he claims to provide.

I am a physician and suffer form a serious psychiatric problem. Before I start a team with Dr Vukovich I had no idea the medicine could help me. He is there every minute you need him, I have called him multiple times and colony answers me immediately and takes care of everything probably. I am a different person then when I met him in a healthy, happy person. If you have psychiatric problems and need medication this is absolutely the person to go to.

Yes, he is expensive. Over a $1000 initial consult and $300 for a 10 minute visit after that. Yes, he has an ego. Its his way or the highway. Ask questions beyond the scope of his expertise and he get annoyed quickly and can be condescending. Yes, he is good at what he does and he knows it. My primary care doctor is convinced that he over prescribes me. Honestly, however, I feel better than I have in 20 years. No more suicidal ideations, constant depression, and anxiety. Just simple living. I left his practice because the people behind the scenes (two very unqualified assistants) dont perform to the level one would expect from a doctor of his stature. Especially when they charge Beverly Hills pricing in Belmont. The person I see now is more service than craft and thats the way I like it. Let Dr. V straighten you out than move along.

I have been a patient of Dr. Vuckovic since 1993. i was in an acute crisis when I first met him and I am convinced that I would not be alive today if it were not for his skill and expertise. He worked closely with my behavioral therapist to help me cope with day to day living. Today, I am a healthcare provider, an incest survivor, and a survivor or physical and emotional abuse that lasted more than 25 years. With his help I have been able raise my daughter, achieve a PhD and have a very full life filled with blessings and a soul that has let go of any anger at the circumstances of my life. All I can say is Thank you!

Reckless doctor who uses his Harvard credential and smug manner to dupe confused/in crisis people into paying him $$ and getting on lots of meds, and then has no accountability to these people. He charges $$$ to see you, and talks down to you. I have never been more insulted by a medical professional. Many many years ago he charged $500 for an initial consult, and then some large sum for on going treatment; who knows what he charges now. At my initial consult he asked how it was going on the 1 med I was on. I said it's going really well, I hardly remember what it was like before. He said - stop taking it and you'll remember quickly! And he laughed and laughed... (And his consult added no particular value insults aside.) I didn't go back. Unfortunately my dad did, and he wrote more and more prescriptions for him... Dealing with the cumulative fall out now/(and over the past 15 years). Stay away.

He prescribed the wrong meds, I've felt worse and that he misdiagnosed me. I went to see a private therapist and now I am feeling great!

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had Dr. Vuckovic's email address? I am from another state, but my son's attends school in Boston. My son needs help and I've heard from a few people that Dr. Vuckovic could be the right person for him. Not sure how to get his email without advertising it in the public. Help.

Alex has been my psychopharmacologist for 32 years. I myself am in the healthcare practitioner and would not be here today if were not for his insight, expertise, and availability. Having significant trust issues, I needed someone I could rely on and I tested him often over the years. I have gone from someone on social security disability, barely able to conduct the activities of daily living to leading a productive life achieving a terminal degree in my field of expertise. His worked in concert with with my primary care doctors and therapist. None of this would have been possible without his diligence, insight, expertise, and caring. My worst fear is that someday he will tell me he is retiring. I have no doubt that I enjoy my life today because of him.

Accurate diagnosis. Among the very best Psychiatrists practicing worldwide today. When the chips were down, he responded to phone calls within 5 minutes!!! No one is that good!! He is very tough at times, but the end result is a brighter future for the majority of his patients.

This man put me on so many medications, I shudder to think about the experience. I had so many side-effects from jumping around from one pill to the next and from being over-medicated, it was unbearable - including serotonin syndrome. He mis-diagnosed me as I got increasingly worse for almost a year, and was extremely upset when I requested another doctor at the hospital give me a second opinion. I finally received an accurate diagnosis, and my new therapist at McLean had to intervene - weaning me off of most of the ELEVEN different medications I was taking (I was on 0 before Dr. V), and counselling me through the Ambien addiction I had acquired while on a higher-than-the-highest recommended dose, and the terrible things I had done while taking it - Dr. V ignored my repeated concerns about the Ambien. I left him and never went back - he is a horrible memory. He has an ego so huge it clouded his judgement, and could not fathom taking advice of any other experts, even at his own… hospital. A truly dangerous, terrible doctor.
