Dr. Alexandria Atuahene Opata, MD

went to see dr. opata for my type2 diabetes. she just kept referring back to my primary care physician and really was not interested in having me as a patient. I found her behavior odd. she did not want to be bothered. I went to her because she is a specialist but she did not act like one. receptionist was also rude for no reason

Due to Oakland traffic & construction around the hospital I was 15 minutes late for my appointment and she refused to see me. I traveled an hour and a half! She sees patients every 30 minutes. There was still 15 minutes left to my time slot. I wasn't really satisfied from my last office visit. My PCP wanted me to have her check on a few things and she just wanted to refer me back to my PCP even though my PCP felt it was more an endocrinology issue. She didn't want to follow up. In fact she gave me the impression she didn't want to bother (probably because it would take up too much of my allotted time). So this is probably a blessing in disguise. I have been going to this office for years (second appt with Dr. Opata) and have had to wait pretty long in the past for other doctors. This was my first time being late.
