Alexandru Gottlieb, MD, has served Cleveland Clinic in multiple roles since joining the Foundation in 1979. Currently, he holds joint appointments. He is Chairman of the Clinical Council, as well as on the Vascular Anesthesia Staff in the Department of General Anesthesia. Dr. Gottlieb is also the Anesthesiology Institute's liaison to the International Center, as well as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology with the Cleveland Clinic Health Science Center of Ohio State University in Cleveland, Ohio. His interests include vascular anesthesia, anesthesia for bariatric surgery, as well as research and teaching clinical anesthesia. Dr. Gottlieb has lectured, conducted a number of studies and published many articles, book chapters and abstracts on vascular anesthesiology. Dr. Gottlieb earned his medical degree from the Israel Institute of Technology School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Rambam University Hospital.
