Alexis Berg, PA-C

As an orthopedic physician assistant, Alexis Berg manages operative care, takes patient histories, does medical exams, coordinates treatment and is first assistant in surgery.
​​After being treated for a sports injury in high school, she, saw the important role an orthopedic physician assistant played in her recovery. “I was always interested in medicine, but this gave me a clearer direction in my career path.”
​​“For me the awesome part of orthopedics is being able to see the care progress, whether it’s restoring use for patients or enabling them to have less pain and see tangible results.”
​​She believes in making sure the patient understands all aspects of a surgery. “I treat the person not as a medical diagnosis but with compassion and always speak in laymen’s terms.”
​​While a physician assistant student at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia, Berg volunteered at an after-school program for at-risk youth, at a …rescue mission shelter as a P.A. student health care volunteer and at Habitat for Humanity – all to help give back to the community.
​​She is excited to be back in Eau Claire, where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology from UW-Eau Claire. Originally from Westby, in southwest Wisconsin, Berg likes being closer to her family who live in La Crosse and the Twin Cities.
​​In her free time, she enjoys traveling and playing with her cocker spaniel dog, as well as playing basketball, volleyball, golf and tennis.
