Dr. Aleya Salam Kha Salam, MD

I have had three visits with Dr Salam: initial, procedural and follow-up. Though a woman of fewer words than some, she listened to my needs and proposed a plan of action to relieve my years long debilitating back pain (that no other orthopaedist I saw even mentioned as a possible solution). After x-rays and an MRI, Dr Salam proceded. My follow-up was scheduled for one month later, to give the procedure time. At the follow-up, I reported 95% improvement and asked to give her a hug to thank her. She gave me a big smile and a hug back. I see her again at the 3 month mark. She did what 3 other orthos didn't do. This qualifies me, I believe, to give her the highest rating

She hushed me and rushed me. Didn't ask anything about my pain or how it effects my life, told me "you have the tiniest herniation, you shouldn't be in pain at all". She said an injection might help, but "if it doesn't work it doesn't work". When she said i couldn't take any nsaids or supplements 5 days before the injection i about fell off the chair. Idk how im going to manage without taking them. ...there was no way I was going to bring up any new meds for pain, she probably would have accused me of using. People told me she was great, but I definitely disagree.

After unexceptionable experience 's over an 8 year period, with previous pain management I've come across Hunterdon Family Orthopedics. After thorough evaluation by Dr Salam Ive agreed to give Dr Salam a chance to help me with my chronic pain issue caused by a serious cervical (5 crushed cervical disks) injury (Job related) and 2 surgeries I've experienced. Far less then a year later, I am 90% pain free. Dr Salam is an excellent doctor. I highly recommend Hunterdon pain management for everyone in chronic pain. Thank you very much Dr. Salam. I also would like to imclude Dr. Polack who also did a professional service greatly decreasing shoulder pain that had gotten worse after a Roto cuff surgery done by another facility other than Hunterdon.

Dr. Salaam treated me with respect and understood that my quality of life was threatened by chronic pain. I am no longer suffering and I have a full life once again. I Thank her and highly recommend her.

Dr. Salam is a Doctor who cares about her patients. She does not treat you like a Deli counter Carousel. She takes her time and treats you as a person. Thanks Dr. Salam

Before my first appointment with Dr. Salam I couldn't stand or walk more then 3 minutes without severe pain. I was like that for several years due to a bad accident In which I was a passenger in a taxicab. Other Doctors that I encountered only wanted to keep giving me stronger medications. Dr Salam immediately had a plan of action that was minimally invasive which returned me to a happy life without pain. I highly recommend Dr. Salam! She is awesome!

I have visited Dr. Salam on numerous occasions, primarily for back and shoulder pain. She has always taken appropriate time and utilized all necessary diagnostic tools to identify the cause. She has treated me with both injectable and systemic medications. I have always felt her only goal was to relieve my pain, and where possible cure my illness. I highly recommend her!

I had pain for years and was given pain meds by many anesthesiologists but no body really took time to diagnose my problems and she looked at films, read my reports and LISTENED ,she is my doc for few years now and I am functioning very well with a combination of exercises, rare spinal injections once every 2 years and minimal pain meds after failing surgery 2X.

I went to Dr. Salam for lower back pain that also ran down my legs. She ordered an MRI and after I had it she made me feel like she was trying to minimize my injury. She said I should get the shots and it would help. I'm sure this may work for a lot of people but it did not work for me. If anything it made my pain worse. When I called the next day after having the procedure I left a message on the her nurses voice mail. The nurse returned my call about 2 hours later and told me Dr. Salam said to "tough it out". I asked how long I should have to wait and her nurse said very rudely "I can't answer that I'm not the doctor" No kidding lady.... can you find out for me? Her nurse was Always rude. She NEVER called me back. Also Dr. Salam is not an anesthesiologist. I dont like the idea of someone poking around in my spine with needles that's not an anesthesiologist. It is one week later and I ended up hospitalized for pain management cause I was suffering so bad. The sad part is… almost all doctors are like this. They have great bedside manner but stink when it comes to actual treatment or vice versa. I am looking for an actual anesthesiologist for my pain management now. I hope I get someone good.
