Dr. Alfonso C Ciervo, MD

I went to see Dr Ciervo to have injections in spider veins which I had 20 years ago and worked great with another doctor. However that was not the case with me. While he was performing injections in my left leg he said “ oops I missed” not one but twice. He knew he did it wrong but didn’t tell me . Instead he and told me to wear compression stockings for two weeks or my veins would turn purple. That was to cover his mistake but it didn’t work my veins were purple within 2 hours. I still bought the stockings and followed his rules. After 12 days of no change I saw a new vascular surgeons. When he saw my leg and I told him what Dr Ciervo said he was shocked. I have extremely bad blood clots in my leg from whatever he did to me. Please beware beware beware. I gave one star because his receptions was kind and professional

Dr Ciervo has done at least at least10 procedures on me over the past 6 plus yrs I have been his patients. I am a high risk transplant patient and each procedure and decision is life or death. Dr Ciervo is always available to me day or night.My quality of life is at its best during these 6 years because of his skill and decisiveness. A second opinion is not something he has ever made me feel uncomfortable discussing and his medical platform me has turned out to be more reliable than many of the "NYC park ave" doctors that I see as part of my high risk medical situation. Tha best vascular surgeon that I've been cared for over these 37 years of life threatening illness. I thank God for his skill and compassion.

I was diagnosed with a serious 99% obstruction of my right carotid. Dr Ciervo, waited for me at his parking lot at 10pm, the same day I ask for consultation. In 3 days I was intervene. No sequels anywhere. After my 6 mo check up, everything seems in order. I don't need too much pamper so the time he dedicated after surgery was very professional and the right amount of time. He explain very clear the pros and cons. Anyways I have no many options. Thanks

He cares about the welfare of his patients and goes out of his way to use the best and latest equipment to diagnose.

Doctor Ciervo wanted to remove a small mass on my foot that I thought was vascular (Why I went to a vascular surgeon ). He insisted that the mass be surgically removed without any need for x-rays or MRIâ??s because â??the mass was not suppose to be thereâ??. He stated that he â??did not know what the mass was but it had to be removedâ??. His proposed methodology was to remove an elliptical portion of the area of the skin above the mass and then remove the mass. I insisted that I would not go ahead with any procedure without an MRI so after my insistence he gave me a Rx for an MRI. At the MRI facility the Radiologist, while reviewing the MRI in Progress, recommended I also have a MRI w/contrast. When I consulted with a different Surgeon ( second opinion-very important ) it was determined no action was necessary at this time since more damage would be done by removal, since I have normal walking/running function. Also the mass was not vascular. Dr. Ciervoâ??s proposed surgical… procedure was not appropriate and I might have ended up permanently disabled because of damage done to my plantar (ligament). I would not recommend him under any circumstances and may report him to some Professional Authority.

Easy enough to get an appointment, though I had to schedule it out about three weeks. Office staff is very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Ciervo spent more time with me than any other doctor I have been to over the past five years :) I think he would have spent even more time if I continued to ask more questions, but I was happy and satisfied with course of treatment he recommended. I would send family and friends to Dr. Ciervo.

Dr. is extremely knowledgeable in his field of expertise. Explains everything, has a terrific bedside manner. Glad to have had him for my care.

He will operate on anyone for money. Surgery anytime of the day. Stay hungry all night and all day waiting for him to show up but be ware your surgery might get cancelled because he is "tied up" at another hospital for some "emergency". Overbooks himself with amount of surgeries he cannot handle
