Dr. Alfonso Mireles, MD

Dr. Míreles is very rude and doesn’t seem to care about his patients, he is not gentle with babies or young children. When you ask him a question he often replies with “I don’t know”. Don’t recommend going to him.

My granddaughter has been going there for 9 years but in the past 3 years, so many different doctors saw her, no one caught her problems . Just gave her antibiotics and sent us on our way. Now she needs surgery and they won't even officially write up her conditions or absenteeism from school for my daughter employer, when they're the ones that told us she had to stay home! They caused this by misdiagnosis and now they won't help. This office is only for people with menial or no job, that can stay home without issue. It's not for upper middle-class families. If you value your child's health, don't go here.

Excellent, knowledgeable, caring doctor

I have three children, taken the oldest since birth. So I have been going to him for almost 9 years now. I will not deny that he is very knowledgeable, educated, and experienced. But he is down right arrogant and rude. The only reason I have been going for so long is his associate Dr. Wong which is a delight to be around in general. His staff as long as you acknowledge them and their hard work, they will treat you nicely and remember you. But Mireles is down right rude sometimes. I am actually so close to telling him off soon. He is quick to dismiss any worries that I have. And I also agree with other parents, getting a referral from him is like pulling teeth. If you go head to head with him I suggest to do your research, sound assertive, and feed him back the same attitude he dishes out. And yes keep asking for referrals, eventually he does get around to doing it.

The staff is fine. But this doctor is very stingy with referrals and has often misdiagnosed my daughter. She had scarlet fever and we were told by the doctor that she had a little virus that will go away on its own. Needless to say I was highly angry with this practice because I could have lost my daughter if it wasn't for another doctor will diagnosed it correctly. Also, we begged for almost an entire year for a referral go an orthopedic doctor because my daughters feet point inward and she falls when she runs. He kept denying my request. Finally when we were able to get the referral, turns out she did in fact need orthopedic therapy and wears orthopedic shoes to sleep at night. We also asked for a behavioral analyst referral because she was biting her nails and toes. She also gets temper tantrums and bites herself, the floor, the doorknob. Her consistent worrying and fear and inability to focus... All of the above was explained to the doctor. He refused to give a referral AGAIN and… asked me to fill out a questionaire. I filled it out about 6 months ago and I have not heard back from him! Also, on another occasion, my niece needed a referral to see a neurologist and a physical therapist for spinal problems. He refused to give a referral yet again! And now my niece will need surgery if that wil even help. All in all, the is hands down the absolute WORST doctor. Uncaring, misdiagnosing, cold/dry/no bedside manner. The list goes on and on. If you love your children, do not bring them there!! Needless to say, my daughters pediatrician has been changed!

Dr. Mireles does a poor job of diagnosing patients properly and does not refer his patients to proper specialists.

Dr.Alfonso Mireles is the best doctor you will every find for your children. My kids have been going to doctor Mireles since they were born and we are all like family.My children are 16 and 18 know and I am going to have to find a family doctor to see them and they are not happy at all that they have to leave Dr.Mireles and his staff behind ....... GREAT GREAT DOCTOR EVER !!!!

At first I really liked the dr.s, though I've only seen, Dr.Mireles one time the other two Dr.s I've liked. I took my son in on a mon. because he had white patches in his mouth (thrush) and was told it was nothing, by the next morning his mouth was covered with sores, and he was in pain,crying and refused to feed (5months old), and was told I had to bring him in again to get a prescription. Which upset me. Seeing how I was there less then 24hrs beforehand for this very issue. Problem I have is the office staff who were very rude and unprofessional. When dealing with parents who have sick children they should understand how to treat them with compassion and understanding. Not tell you that "they're not going to deal with the problem" and that they will hangup on me. (yes I was told by an employee that she would "hang up in my ear"). I WILL find another ped. I don't like the feeling of a dr. or staff that treat the office like a revolving door, get us in and out as quick as possible. … If the Dr. had taken a few mins. to really diagnose my baby and not rush me out of the door, he wouldn't have been in such pain. I WILL NOT go back!!

I love Dr. Mireles, he's fast, sweet and caring towards my kids. Also, Dr. Mireles was my doctor growing up as well. It's good to know that someone that I know and trust are my children's doctor.

Dr. Mireles is a very sweet and knowledgeable physician. He performed my son's circumcision and he and his office staff diagnosed and gave great treatment when my boy got chickenpox. My wife and I followed his advice with breastfeeding when my son was born and we were both very pleased with the results. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mireles!!
