Dr. Alfred Stanley Halas

Alfred S. Halas D.M.D., F.A.G.D.
Dr. Halas has maintained strong ties to Academia throughout his professional career. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology from LaSalle University, he worked for four years as a biology teacher with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He then entered dental school, receiving his D.M.D. from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine in 1976. Following graduation, he entered a General Practice Residency at Philadelphia General Hospital which he completed in 1977.
At the outset of his career in dentistry, Dr. Halas taught in the Diagnostic and Special Patients Clinic at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine. He divided his practice hours between private patients as well as consulting with nine nursing homes in the Montgomery and Bucks County areas, 1982-1990. Ultimately, the demands of a growing private practice required that he limit his activities and he continues in that capacity to this day.
Countless hours of …continuing education courses enables Dr. Halas to learn the new and exciting developments in dentistry and apply them to this practice. As a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, he can continue to learn, having joined in 1977 and earned his Fellowship status in 1986.
In addition to the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Halas is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association (committee member), and the Catholic Medical Association-Philadelphia Guild.
Dr. Halas and his wife, Loretta, a Social Studies educator and a Speech-Language Pathologist, enjoy many activities together. Gardening, travel, sports and cultural events are some of their mutual interests. They especially are involved in volunteerism, both in the community and at their church.
