Dr. Alfred Lavi, DO

I've been going to Dr. Lavi for over 15 years. He is so personable. Great bedside manner. The office staff is friendly and helpful (Hi Maria) The PAs are friendly and very professional. The other technicians, Damien and Susie are wonderful. Susie I never feel the needle when you draw blood. That's talent. If you're looking for a great PCP, look no further. Dr. Lavi is the guy!

Please beware of the positive reviews. These were obviously paid for or written by staff members. Nobody that has ever been here would say that he has a competent staff of residents , etc. I’ve heard a lot of reviews referring to Dr Lavi’s bedside manner. What a joke! You will most likely never see Dr Lavi. You will see a medical student, and then possibly a young PA. This is where poor people go that don’t know any better. There are so many fantastic practitioners that accept medi-cal. Don’t settle for this shit show.

This is the worst medical care or lack there of that I've experienced in my 40 years on earth. Located in a strip mall above a discount shoe store, this is everything that you can expect in a walk in clinic, from the waiting room more depressing than the DMV to the unqualified practitioners. Expect to start with a medical student that has not read or has difficulty reading your chart, then perhaps you will meet with a PA. I had to change my medical group to keep my pain management doctor so that's how it ended up at Dr. Lavi. I had been on testosterone for years but they wouldn't prescribe it. They referred me to an endocrinologist that took months to get an appointment with 15 miles away from my house only to have the woman tell me I don't know why they sent you here and referred me to a urologist. Also 15 miles away from my home another two months later that said, I don't know why they sent you here. Thad been on a specific sleeping medication that they do not prescribe so they… referred me to a sleep specialist only to have my insurance required them to fill out a form. They refused to fill out the form unless I physically came in for an appointment. I broke my collarbone and was prescribed two days worth of Tylenol with codeine. You can make an appointment for telehealth for which they will not give you a specific time, but rather call you back whenever is convenient for them or in many cases not at all and you have to call the office again. I recently broke my hip and was supposed to go in for a follow up appointment. Not only did they not have my hospital records but they refused to request them. They lied and said that they were unable to do so, something that as my primary medical providers they easily could. I clarified this much with the records person at California Hospital. They wanted me to do their work for them and contact the hospital, request the forms, fill them out, send them to the hospital, and send the records to my doctors myself. They also lost my lab results not once but twice. I am so incredibly angry at this office and it's staff. It's a wonder that I was able to write this instead of just a laundry list of expletives.

The doctor and staff ignore my request for privacy. I had to ask three times for the student intern to leave. When the doctor came in, I was scolded for asking for privacy. They treat you like a test subject with no humanity if you are poor.

Doctor lavi is the perfect blend of compassionate, kind and knowledgeable. He always is a trusted physician whenever I need care.

Dr. Lavi is the most caring doctor I've been to. He takes the time to get to know you and your health issues. Every time I return for my yearly exams, he always asks about how me and my family are doing. He truly cares about his patients. I also love the medical assistants! They are so patient and understanding. The clinic also takes lots of different insurances. They made sure that all of my referrals were compatible with my insurance as well. I highly recommend this clinic!

Trustworthy, attentive, knowledgeable, personable, considerate, friendly staff, clean, professional and knowledgeable. Everything is explained. Dr.Lavi is an excellent Doctor. I finally feel like I have found a place that feels like a hometown doctor's office... Furthermore, Dr. Lavi maintains an extensive staff of medical professionals, residents and students. The office and support personnel I encounter are always knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. This office is highly recommended. Thank you

Dr. Lavi is very knowledgeable, kind and giving. He is very considerate and always available for my us. We have been his patients for over 12 years now and we could not ask for a better doctor.

TOP OF ARROGANCE AND INDIFFERENCE towards patients 2nd appointment: scheduled and arrived at 3pm. Doctor saw us at 5:15pm once again for 3 minutes AFTER he saw all the people who came AFTER us. In advance : I asked to add my child to my appointment as well. Instead they changed it from mine to child’s name. Thhey Told me that the child has no file (from previous appointment) because he didn't have physical exam (read: “jabs”) So they asked to fill out all 10 pages once again. ( is it even LEGAL? To see the patient and don't make records of it?!) I asked the doctor to change ( resubmit) our referrals to another doctors there were several serious reasons for it., I.e. we were referred to specialists who don’t see kids of our age. Dr. LAVI LIED, saying that I have to do it through the insurance provider. although, I checked with insurance in advance, and They did confirm that all authorizations can be submitted by primary physicians ONLY. I called insurance once again… from the dr. Lavi office- they repeated the same info, and he still refused to submit for new authorizations for us. My child and I have sever serous ENDO, gastro and other conditions. And because of this doctor. Seeing a specialist is delayed by 3-4 months!!! And lastly, I requested some medicine for my son pain at that moment-- IGNORED. All they showed care for if we will do extra jabs. ( we are up to date with vaccines)

Dr. Lavi is everything you could ever want. Go to him, choose him, there's not much more to say than that. Smart, caring, attentive, available, he is what everyone is looking for and you don't find very often at all. He's genuine and has great knowledge as well. He went to bat for me with the health system. I can't say enough good things about my experience with him and his staff. He knows his stuff and really cares as well. He is a good person, you just know it. You will be glad you made him your doctor and made him a part of your life.
