There are times I find him a know it all. He recently said isn't your bp always high? I said no it's because I'm in pain. He asked how is your A1c. I said fine. He laughed. I find he doesn't always read your records and has to be alerted. When talked about a oncoming surgery he asked how long I'd be off. I said 3 months because my job has no light duty. He thought that was too long. I've never had this done. No one knows any more than told by thier surgeon. I felt belittled. I feel like I have to beg for pain meds when I've had an increase in pain. I was very upset with him after my last visit. He listens but he has a habit of contradicting what he has been told.

Dr. Akmal is such a great pain management Dr. He listens to your problems and does all the necessary test to find the problem. Then finds ways to help with your pain management.
