I have been seeing dr. Ali since 2009 when he installed my defibrillator. He has done all my updates and battery replacement. Last month I came down with a blood staph infection which settled around the defibrillator. He was on vacation for a week. No other Dr. had the specialized experience to remove it - (they tried to find one because it was urgent). As soon as he came back, he removed it and all the infected tissue. No complications, excellent follow up care as always.

I found him to be an excellent physician. I had almost no wait. He reviewed my records in an appropriate way, and knew the diagnosis that 2 other doctors, one a cardiologist, had missed. I have read up on my issue afterwards, and he was very accurate. He also gave me lots of information on the diagnosis, and advised me of my options. I have no other medical comorbidities, and he billed me a new patient level 5 which means he spent 60 minutes with me (he spent 15 minutes), or my case had a comprehensive history, comprehensive exam, and high medical decision making. I had one diagnosis, and no comorbities. I have a high deductible plan, but noticed the level of billing, and felt it was most likely fraudulent. I then called my insurance company, and they completed a review and determined it was a level 2 new patient or 99202. I have seen other practices where they do this on a regular basis, and cardiologists seem to be some of the worst. Be VERY wary about any billing you get… from them. BTW - after I filed the grievance they discharged me. I think an equivalent would be going to Best Buy - paying for the 60" TV, getting home and realizing you had the 32" TV, complaining, and then being banned from the store. It seems very unfair.

As long as everything is going smoothly for you Dr A is charming. If something goes wrong, he is GONE. He doesn't really answer questions and the pretense of caring disappears when you really need him. Don't be fooled.
