Dr. Alijanian is a highly recognized Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, caring for people in the greater Bay Area. He graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1994, where he then completed the one-year post-graduate training program. He subsequently completed a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial residency program at Alameda County Medical Center / Highland General Hospital. Dr. Alijanian has completed four years of study in dental implants, has received high recognition from Nobel Biocare/Branemark, one of the world’s leading authorities on dental implants. Dr. Alijanian also utilizes the Nobel Guide, which is a CT guided implant planning and placement, making surgery simple for his patients, with the highest level of predictability. In addition, he provides "Teeth in a Day", replacing single or multiple …missing teeth to patients with adequate bone conditions on the same day. He is one of the few surgeons trained in placement of the zygomaticus implants, a specialized graftless procedure that eliminates the need for bone grafts in severely resorbed jaws, where dental implants were not an option in the past. Dr. Alijanian continues to keep updated with the newest advances in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and is dedicated to predictable results for his patients. He has been featured on ABC’s American Health Front and NBC’s Doctors Improving Healthcare programs, discussing updates on implant dentistry.
In addition to his private practice, he is an instructor for the Surgical Implant Training Program at Alameda County Medical Center / Highland General Hospital. He is also currently on staff at two major trauma centers – John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek and Highland Hospital in Oakland. He has published numerous articles in the fields of anesthesia, dental implants, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Alijanian lectures and offers continuing education to his colleagues in the State of California.
Dr. Alijanian is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and a fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He currently serves as the President of the Sadi Fontaine Academy, Alameda County Medical Center /Highland Hospital’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Alumni Association and is Past-President of the Contra Costa Dental Society. He is also the Director of the Partnership Study Club, a group dedicated to advanced dental education. He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
