The worst the Veterans Affairs has to offer. Misdiagnosed me with PTSD and over-medicated me with Xannaex and Prozac then after 9 years he aburptly discontiued meds causing me severe withdrawl symptons, on warning. Just one day pulled my meds. He also works with HIV-AIDS people at the Jeffery Goodman Special Care Clinic and NEVER spends more than 15 minutes with people at both clinics. He is not even allowed under VA policy to practice at JGSCC but does anyway deprieving our veterans of the PTSD care they really need. Really think about it, a greedy Iraqi doling out care in 15 minutes, what can you do in that time. Would not recomend him to my worst enemy.

My experience with Dr. Aziz was quite different than those posted here that I can see. My life changed on a dime, so to speak, when I became entangled in a series of issues that were out of my control - a whistle blower in my work place came to me and that led to a series of horrible events. Dr. Aziz came highly recommended. I was delighted to get the help I needed. Instead, he was rushed, difficult to get a hold of, did not listen and quite frankly, didn't get it. He overly medicated me and increased it. After two very short and rushed visits, he hospitalized me for 72 hours - I was released after 36 hours - I did not require hospitalization. I can't tolerate medication, never could. This incident resulted in chaos in my work status; with my partner of many years; and with my family and friends. He did not listen to me or hear me. I am still dealing with his mishandling of what I consider a small blip on the roadmap of my life. A week after his "help" I was introduced to a… psychiatrist who took me off of all medications and helped me through the trauma in my life. What happened to me can happen to anyone -- my issues were the result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Talk therapy and good follow-up support worked in my case. I know it's not for everyone. However, this kind of treatment is a thing of the past. Unfortunately, in today's world, a psychiatrist prescribes meds and passes you off to a social worker for talk therapy. An interesting "insurance" friendly model. It just didn't work for me.

Wonderful, kind, caring and likable man. I recommend him to anyone needing the services of a psychiatrist. He is so relaxed and able to put patients at ease that I would especially recommend him to younger patients or anyone uncomfortable in consulting a psychiatrist's services. This man is one great person.

It has been nearly a decade but I still remember his signature red shoes and most importantly the fact that he really cared and saw me through a tough time.

dr.aziz is great.he is a wonderful listener,and gives great advice,and not at all stuffy or intimidating.I reccomend him highly to anyone who is apprehensive when it comes to seeing a psychiatrist.believe me,it was the last thing in the world I wanted to do...pour my heart out,but I was lucky to have found him.

He listens, pays attention, asks questions and remembers what you say. I brought my diagnosis with me, but he confirmed it and confirmed that my current treatment was not effective. He recommended something very different and it worked like nothing else has.Highly, highly recommended(and, no, I'm not currently manic)
