I had the unfortunate experience of being a patient of Dr. Ali Mortazavi, and I can honestly say it was one of the most disturbing and unsettling medical experiences of my life. Not only did I receive subpar medical care, but I also witnessed and experienced serious breaches of trust and ethics that have left me questioning how this individual is still practicing. Improper Conduct with Patients From the very beginning, Dr. Ali Mortazavi exhibited a disturbing lack of professionalism. He would frequently flirt with both patients and staff, making inappropriate comments that felt highly unprofessional and uncomfortable. As a patient, I was disheartened to experience such behavior, and it made me feel uneasy about my care. It was clear that his focus wasn’t on providing good medical treatment, but rather on seeking attention and making patients feel uncomfortable. Violating HIPAA and Patient Privacy What is even more alarming was the complete disregard for patient privacy. I discovered… that Dr. Ali Mortazavi had been texting photos and videos of patients while they were unconscious during surgery, something that is not only highly unethical but also a direct violation of HIPAA laws. These images and videos were shared without consent, and I was appalled to learn that they were sent to other colleagues and staff members. This kind of breach of confidentiality should never be tolerated in the medical profession. Giving Medications Without an RX It became evident that Dr. Ali Mortazavi didn’t follow the proper procedures when it came to prescribing medication. On multiple occasions, he would hand out pain medications to patients without issuing a prescription, which is both illegal and dangerous. It’s clear he has no regard for patient safety or legal requirements, and I fear this reckless behavior could have serious consequences for anyone under his care. Writing Prescriptions for People Who Are Not Patients To make matters worse, Dr. Ali Mortazavi was seen writing prescriptions for people who were not even his patients. This is not only unethical but also illegal. Prescribing medication to someone without a legitimate doctor-patient relationship raises serious concerns about his qualifications and his judgment. If he’s willing to break the law for people who aren't even in his care, it’s scary to think about what else he might be willing to do. In conclusion, I would strongly advise anyone seeking orthopedic care to look elsewhere. Dr. Ali Mortazavi is not only incompetent and unprofessional but also poses a serious risk to patient safety and privacy. There are far better, more ethical doctors out there who will actually prioritize your well-being. I regret ever placing my trust in him and urge others to avoid him at all costs.

Dr. Mortazavi and his staff were thorough and professional, as well as down to earth and kind. After giving the MA my history and having in office x-rays, the doctor asked questions, looked at my images, called me over so he could show me what he saw on the x-rays, and gave a complete picture of what treatment would look like. Very reassuring and I left the office feeling hopeful about his plan.

Saw Dr Mortazavi this week for my one year checkup and x-rays from my cervical surgery. Everything was fine. Dr is an excellent surgeon and a good guy. I'm comfortable talking to him about most anything medical and trust his judgement and opinion.

My first visit with Dr. Mortazavi. He was patient with me and listened to me! He did not hurry with my exam and he was straight forward with explaining what the care plan would be. I think the entire visit was great! Everyone was so nice.

I have been a patient of Dr Mortazavi for over 10 years. He performed surgery on my neck 10 years ago and he’s performed a couple of surgeries on my husband as well as my dad. Dr Mortazavi is the best Orthopedic doctor. He is extremely friendly, takes his time with his patients to make sure he understands your pain points and treats his patients like family. His staff is the best as well. My family and I highly recommend seeing him if you have issues with your neck or back. You won’t be disappointed!
