Dr. Safayan has been providing integrative primary care at Restorative Health in Washington, D.C. since 1990. Board certified in Internal Medicine in 2000 and trained as an internist, he came to realize that MD meant “Maintain Disease.” Given the importance of prevention when it comes to health and well-being, Dr. Safayan sought out further training in Medical Acupuncture, Prolotherapy, PRP, IV Nutritional Therapy, Bio-identical  Hormone Replacement Therapy, Non-pharmacological Allergy Treatments, and Nutritional Medicine, thereby differentiating him from other primary care physicians.

Additionally, Dr. Safayan is a lifelong educator. Since 1997, he has been a senior faculty member with the Helms Medical Institute (www.Hmieducation.com) and with the ACUS foundation since 2009—both premier organizations teaching Medical Acupuncture to both civilian and military physicians. Since 2010, Dr. Safayan has also been a senior faculty member …with the Hackett Hemwall Patterson foundation and with the International Association of Regenerative Therapy since 2019, training physicians from around the world in prolotherapy. Lastly, Dr. Safayan is an adjunct professor in the department of biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology at Georgetown teaching courses in Integrative Medicine and medical acupuncture.

Dr. Safayan has never embraced the conventional one-size-fits-all medical model opting to always provide personalized care for his patients. As he enters his fourth decade in healthcare, he wants to provide even more “precision medicine” by utilizing the sophisticated technology available today to access and prevent cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, nutritional deficiencies, genetic risks, GUT microbiome dysfunction, and musculoskeletal deterioration.
