Dr. Ali Shmara grew up most of his life in Southern California.  Dr. Shmara graduated from an Ivy League dental school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, which ranks as one of the top clinical and didactic schools in the nation.  During his time in dental school Dr. Shmara showed a great interest and excelled in general restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. While in school, Dr. Shmara provided care to patients on several hospital externships which gave him the unique experience of treating complex dental cases in a hospital setting.  This gained him extensive experience in several advanced aspects of dentistry beyond his colleagues.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Shmara completed a one year general practice residency at the VA hospital in Long Beach, CA. During his time in residency, Dr. Shmara received extensive training and gained a wide range of experience in many aspects of dentistry …including removable prosthodontics, dental implantology, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and general restorative dentistry. Dr. Shmara also treated many medically compromised patients at the VA clinic which gained him extensive knowledge in relating every patient’s general health to their oral health.
Dr. Shmara holds 6 years of diverse clinical experience and has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education.  His firm belief in extending his knowledge base in the dental field and learning the latest and most advanced procedures has kept him on the cutting edge of dentistry. During his time in clinical practice Dr. Shmara has shown a special interest and has perfected his expertise in full mouth rehabilitation, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry.  He takes great pride in providing excellent and compassionate care for his patients.
Dr. Shmara is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Kern County Dental Society.
