Nurse Practitioner Ali Schmutzler enjoys her family medicine practice because each diagnosis is “like a mystery to solve.”

“Every patient who walks through the door gives you a unique perspective on their life experiences,” Ali said. “It is an art – something that constantly changes. The patients are my teachers. They are all unique.”


Ali has experience working with patients in multiple settings, including education, trauma, emergency department and hospital. She chose to be a family medicine nurse practitioner to help find answers for patients and their families.

“I want to share my knowledge to help others,” she said. “I enjoy making that connection with a patient to let them know I truly care about them and their concerns.”


Ali is most passionate about helping patients understand their health care. The most important element for her in patient care is teaching. She works with patients and their families …throughout their health care experiences.

“They are more than numbers in a medical record, it is about knowing-talking and listening to your patient,” she said. “You truly make a difference in people’s lives.”

Ali received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and her master’s in nursing Education from Bellin College of Nursing in Green Bay. She went on to complete her certification as an Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner from Concordia University. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice through Concordia University.
