Dr. Alicia Hindelang Austin, MD

Absolutley love Dr. Austin. She is a pleasure to talk to and she is personable. She recognized me outside the office setting.

Dr Austin is alway very caring and respectful. But the staff can be rude.

Alicia quickly developed an attitude when I indicated resistance to taking anti-depressant medication following a previous catastrophic experience. Her sole purpose in the office seems to be to obtain a quick history and prescribe medication and counseling. Alicia subsequently refused to fill out FMLA paperwork necessary to state that she had indeed seen me on that date, that she had made a diagnosis, and what her recommendations for my treatment were. The purpose of the form is solely to state that if I do have to take off work for an appointment to receive counseling or whatever treatment might be deemed necessary (and since she had me make a follow-up appointment with her as well as make an appointment with a counselor in her office, I'll go out on a limb and say that was her recommendation), that I do indeed have a legitimate excuse to do so. It is my opinion that the only reason she refused to fill out the form is because subsequent to my one and only appointment with her, a nurse… in doctor's office made an emergency appointment for me with someone else whom she hoped would (and did) give me some time off from the extremely stressful conditions on my job, which is why I was referred to Alicia to begin with. I am assuming she made a judgement about the fact that I need a minute away from the enormous stressors I have been dealing with for many months, without taking the time to determine the severity of the problem and the possible consequences to myself or others minus some timely relief. She IS a psychiatrist, I assume she should be able to make an educated assessment without letting her own personal opinions cloud her decision making process.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!!! HAVE NEVER EVER FELT WORSE. HAD TO SEE ANOTHER PSY. CLOSER TO HOME RIGHT AWAY AND BE TALKED DOWN BECAUSE I WAS VERY SUICIDAL AFTER THE EXPERIENCE WITH HER AND HER STAFF.
