Dr. Alicia Galvan is a San Antonio native who graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in 1998. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio Dental School (UTHSCSA) in 2002. Dr. Galvan went on to complete a 2 year hospital based general practice residency at the UTHSCSA dental school and University Hospital focusing on the dental treatment of medically compromised individuals. Upon completion of her residency in 2004 Dr. Galvan joined the UTHSCSA postdoctoral division in general dentistry department. During this time Dr. Galvan served as residency program director for the advanced education in general dentistry and general practice residencies which also focus on the the treatment of medically compromised individuals. She is also a fellow of the American Association of Hospital Dentists, a division of the Special Care Dentistry Association. In 2009 Dr. Galvan received the UTHSCSA clinical excellence in dentistry …award. Dr. Galvan continues to provide continuing education for dentists and is a member of the ADA, TDA, SADDS,SCDA AND AGD. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, hiking, cooking and gardening.
