Dr. Alicia Shantell James, MD

Dr. James has been an excellent physician and great listener to me as I've followed her to her new position with LexMed. I have a special needs daughter and for the first time in years, have a doctor that listens to me, offers suggestions and insight and most important, has respect for my requests and decisions. I'm delighted with her care and kindness. As a note, the person who gave her a 1 - are you serious? Only established, not new, patients are told to come in 15 min. early for an update on insurance and such - new patients anywhere are required to fill out complete paperwork before a new patient appt. And you seem to have had problems with the front desk; so why would you give a fine doctor a 1 when you've never even met her?

My Insurance referred me to Dr. James. First I could not make an appointment until I picked up the standard doctors office paperwork to fill out. A little confused as I'm usually told at other doctors office to arrive 15 min early to fill out paperwork, but that was fine I went ahead with their routine. After filling out paperwork I'm finally allowed to make an appointment a month out. I thought to myself wow she must really be a good doctor, I guess no one bothered to give her any good reviews yet. The day of the appointment I'm running a little behind, so I called the doctors office to let them know I live down the street I will be there in 10 min. I was told by the receptionist oh you will probably have to reschedule. Let me "message" the doctor to see if she will see you. OK that tells me right there the doctor hasn't even made it to the office yet. So, the receptionist finally gets back on the phone after holding a few minutes to say I will need to call you back once I get an… answer. OK that is fine, I never received a call back. The next morning I call them back, I said I never heard anything back from you. receptionist answers oh I'm so sorry about that, but the doctor replied back to me and said she will reschedule you another appointment 2 months out and if you don't show up she said she just won't see you again thereafter. First I had to compose myself and I stated please tell the doctor she does not have to worry I can easily find another doctor to do a typical physical that only take a few minutes to do in the first place. Anyone who has taken the time to read all of this please remember doctors like this who are on a high horse who believes no other doctors exist except them can easily be replaced with other doctors who actually understands that things happen and have feelings. Don't waste your time here.
