I made an appointment and gave the office my insurance information a month in advance, specifically going out of my way to ask if they took Aetna if it was through Medicaid/an HMO. I was told that they did. The day of the appointment the street address they have listed plants you a distance away from their actual location, and I couldn’t find it, so I called the office for directions. They helped me out a tad, but when I called the second time to confirm if I had found the correct building, I was told that they made a single phonecall the day before the appointment during my work hours to inform me that they did not take my insurance because it was through an HMO. Now I’m spending one of my few days off from work driving for nearly 2 hours for absolutey no reason. I’ve never sought treatment from a psychologist before, and this entire experience has seriously discouraged me from ever attempting again.
