Dr. Alicia Ann Prowse, MD

She is a very professional but at that same time she is a very caring person, warm hearted and very friendly. You can talk to her like talking to a friend. And also she is a very good opera singer!

I couldn't disagree more with the person who left the previous rating. Dr. Prowse is among the most patient-centric doctors I've ever been to. Several members of our family have seen her and also view her this way. Re. the office staff: We've been going to PAs and doctors at Dr. Hyon's practice for over 12 years (before it was Valley Medical Park Ridge) and couldn't be happier with the entire staff. Things can get hectic, as at any office, and sometimes there's a wait time to speak to someone by phone. However, I haven't once experienced what the patient above experienced. For my family members and me, there has never been any incident where anyone in this office has passed the buck or been anything less than pleasant and helpful. What is very special about Dr. Prowse--and something I'll always be grateful for--is illustrated by how she once delayed the start of her vacation to oversee my mother's care while being hospitalized. What's more, my mom was a patient who Dr.… Prowse had only seen ONCE! Dr. Prowse's competencies and kind heart are evident in her ability to actively listen and her willingness to spend considerable time explaining and discussing options. Her follow-up is unparalleled--including evening phone calls at the end of long days. I would recommend her--and this office--without any hesitation whatsoever. I'm only sorry that the person who wrote the previous review didn't have the same great experience as my family has always had with this practice.

First time visiting office after setting appointment. Office staff not organized! Quick to blame one another or pass the buck, when a patient calls in with questions and concerns regarding appointments attended and billing! Dr. Prowse is not prompt to return phone calls!! It takes her days, and when she returns your call, she has an excuse of being on vacation or some type of personal medical condition. Dr. Prowse is not efficient to listening what you have to say, and talks right over you to make her opinion heard. Bottom line, patients are not her priority - I've witnessed first hand that dollars are what important to her and Valley Medical Group of Park Ridge,NJ.
