Dr. Alicia Reams, MD

Even though I had only had one wellness visit with Dr. Reams, she was really there for me when I needed her assistance. One week before a scheduled surgery, the hospital informed me I needed cardiac clearance, and my primary needed to arrange it. Dr. Reams found a place for me in a full schedule to see Dr. her, get necessary bloodwork, an EKG, and a chest X-ray. Though it was probably lunchtime, Dr. Reams was kind and calm., though I was pretty stressed that my surgery might be cancelled. Then she and her staff found me a cardiologist appointment, no easy task, the Thursday before my scheduled surgery on Tuesday with Dr. Richard Miller. He not only put my mind at ease but did the ECHO right there. He cleared me for my successful surgery. Thank you to both of them and their staffs. I scheduled an appointment to interview Dr. Reams because I am looking for a primary care physician who will listen and help diagnose chronic conditions and coordinate medical care from a number of specialty physicians. Turns out Dr. Reams best advice was to "travel to the Mayo Clinic and enroll in 'an intensive program' that enables patients to get off all medication and get on with their lives." I specifically asked if she knew anything about fibromyalgia or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, as the very painful and debilitating symptoms I've been experiencing seem to match the criteria for these or similar chronic illnesses. I've been very ill and unable to work for more than 8 years. Needless to say, I don't believe I have found a primary care physician in Dr. Reams.
