Worst patient experience I’ve ever had. I moved from Boston and my amazing, caring doctor at BMC gave me a few recommendations in the area based on my hospital preference. I expect that every hospital, or cabinet runs differently but I never expected anything like this. You can wait for MONTHS to have a standard appointment and honestly even longer when you have an emergency. Dr. Never responds and pushes things onto her nurse who makes grave errors in her place. They messed up my biological prescription more times than I can count by now. Had to be on the phone with my pharmacy EVERY OTHER WEEK to make sure my prescription and order were correct and various times, they were not. It’s really frustrating as a patient to have to double check your entrusted medical “team” because they can’t seem to do their job right? IDK, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. I have multiple health issues within this area and she had yet to address other aspects of my care well over a YEAR into… being her patient. Very disappointed, I would not recommend her services to anyone who cares to be informed about their health. Wish I could rate 0 stars.

I've been seeing Dr. Charabaty for 4 years. She's a great GI doc. She spends time explaining things to me, takes time to discuss my care with other specialists to ensure that I receive the best possible care and when there is an emergency her or one of her staff are always available to me.

I was a patient seeing Dr. Charabaty for over 2 years time. The times I saw her in clinic she spent very little time with me. Dr. Charabaty never contacted me by phone even in cases of emergency I needed immediate consultation. I had visible blood in my stool for over 2 months time and her nurse called and told me to take prednisone and see her in 3 months. Out of desperation I contacted another gastroenterologist who immediately suggested I perform a colonoscopy, which reveled severe active disease. If I had stayed on plan with her nurseâ??s suggestion I would have required surgery at the very least. I lost my job shortly there after because I was so ill because of the blatant negligence by her and her practice. They also changed my medication prior to the flare for reasons that were not appropriate and tied to blame it on me.

I went to Dr. Charabaty for an endoscopic ultrasound of a pancreatic tumor. From the moment I met her she was just the most kind and wonderful person. Everywhere I went in the hospital the staff just raved about how excellent she is. She explained the procedure in great detail and made it very easy for me to understand. She had a very calming demeanor about her which made me feel so much better about the experience. I woke up from my endoscopy with absolutely no pain. She came to the recovery room to discuss her findings and even brought a copy of her report with pictures to give to you. I didn't even have to ask for it! She's great at follow up care. Normally to follow up with a doctor you have to make an appointment, pay another co-payment, then drive all the way into Georgetown. But with Dr. Charabaty, she saved me so much trouble by just calling me and telling me the results over the phone. She also sent me a letter in the mail discussing my results and I even received another… follow up letter from that letter. I have never met a doctor that communicates with their patients so much. She truly cares about you, she's kind, intelligent, and is just excellent. Her guess on my diagnosis was spot on before she even got my biopsy results back. She's just wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Charabaty.
