Dr. Alisa Marie Duran, MD

Dr. Duran cancels appointments without explanation. The telephone number given isn't for the Women's Clinic and it is set up to go through 3 gateways and then you are put on hold. It is impossible to speak to Dr. Duran herself.

While she listened to what I had to say and was fairly thorough with blood work, she wrote off my complaints about GI issues as being anxiety induced. She put me on anti-anxiety meds which turned me into a zombie and didn't do anything for my GI issues. Found out much later I actually had celiacs disease. I'd be wary if she gives you some sort of psychological diagnosis.

I have gotten extrodinary care from Dr Duran-Nelson. She listened, explained what she was hearing, provided a referral to a specialist and provided a prescription that she encouraged me to fill even though I was reluctant. The referal and the prescription were both a huge help to me.

writing this with 20/20 hindsight after 7 months have passed. I was treated through the U of Minnesota clinics.Dr. Alisa Duran-Nelson was my 3rd Dr. referral for a possible connection with a what was then a 1+ year old chronic inflammation with a possible immune system connection. She did not treat the inflammation or try to find causes or connections. I was labeled as a drug seeking problem patient with possible psychological problems and placed in the pass off bin. Even the psychology end was not medically tested/verified.For someone who supposedly specializes in both the conditions I was referred to her for one would think she could see past my state of mind and try to find real reasons.
