Dr. Alison Elizabeth Oakes, MD

Even if it's the middle of July (and 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside,) you'd better arrive for your appointment with Dr. Oakes dressed in an expedition parka, long underwear, hat, and gloves. Because the doctor's bedside manner is as COLD AS ICE. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr. Oakes for 6 months and she is very good and answered all my questions and concerns. I will keep seeing her.

Impatient and rude

All of the negative comments are true. I will never go back to her.

If I could give her a negative five stars I would. Rude, condescending, unhelpful, horrible bedside manner. She gave us absolutely no answers, no help, no options and yelled at us! Pointing and telling us to be quiet and stop asking questions?! Really?! And to ask a general question and make fun of the answer and laugh?! I wouldn't take my dog to her, I wouldn't recommend anyone to this "Doctor". What an aggravation, waste of time and money.

When examining me for bowl issues she told me my stomach was to big to hear anything with her stethoscope. I am overweight but not that much. She hates fat people. Other drs. can hear just fine. She did a colonoscopy for a friend of mine.. She was shocked because of her bad manners

Insensitive, disrespectful, and abrupt. I felt like she had better things to do than patient care.

I have never have been so belittle and felt that I was just plain stupid by someone whom calls themselves a physician. Ms. Oakes repeatedly interrupted me when I was explaining the symptoms I was experiencing, because she wanted me to explain it in a different way (Her favorite phrase). She dismissed every concern and she pretty much told me that she would guaranteed I did not know my own body. I have never been so uncomfortable with a physician in my life. She is insensitive and made me feel completely uncomfortable during the total appointment. She recommended a gastric procedure and while I am sure is necessary, she will not be doing it. I cannot imagine dealing with her more than this one appointment. Her staff was very sensitive and accommodating, they but could not make up for her lack of caring.
