My then 8 1/2 year old child needed a filling. Never having had this work done before, the child was apprehensive. I went back to sit beside and literally hold my child's hand. Dr Alissa was raising her voice when when any anxiety of the patient was demonstrated, speaking to both my child and me condescendingly. Accused ME of instilling fear, "Seems like someone has been talking this procedure up a bit and making someone VERY nervous," while glaring at me. In actuality the procedure was not discussed in detail to either of us ahead of time and patient education would have eliminated the fear. I paid the bill and canceled the future cleaning appointments for all my children the next day.

Dr. Alissa was wonderful at first, my daughter loved her. However, after needing more serious work done, we received an estimate of nearly $4000 including sedation for my 11 year old child. We got a second opinion who told us that with proper pain management, the dental work shouldn't be painful. He did the work for us, saving us thousands of dollars. The icing on the cake was a letter from Dr A stating that she would no longer treat my child because of "missed appointments". We cancelled one appointment as soon as we received our second opinion, giving over 24 hours notice. Insecure, unprofessional, just crazy? I haven't figured it out but would never go back, nor could we since she will no longer treat my child !?!
