Dr. Alistair James Reid Finlayson, MD

Dr. Finlayson is a wonderful doctor who has helped many people through their struggles, he is also compassionate, caring and he takes the time to listen to what his patients point of view or what the need. I would highly recommend Dr. Finlayson!!!!

I read the other reviews and just don't know where they are coming from. I have being seeing Dr Rinlayson for about three years and do not know a doctor better than him. He has been a great help to me in medication management. Thank you Dr Finlayson

He was an hour late, then after he asked me a question took 3 phone calls when I attempted to answer. Had the gall to try to diagnose me after this "session". The center is a profit center - he ruins careers with no thought to what he is doing. They use a sketchy drug testing lab (not a concern of mine as I don't use any) but they went to cut my hair with dirty scissors that were sitting in with pens and pencils off the desk! When I complained to Dr Finlayson's program they put that in my report as though that were indicative of something wrong with me rather than clearly an issue with the actual fact that I might catch a disease - let alone that it could affect results of testing. The woman doing the testing projected her feelings onto me and put that into the report - really quite laughable. As amateurish as one can get. These are physician careers and they are NOT out to work with you or protect you. They are just taking your money. STAY AWAY.

If you are a Healthcare Provider being evaluated by this individual then beware. He has no regard as to medical necessity and simply feeds the system with mandatory compliance from health care providers for profit. He has blatant conflict of interest as he Directs a rehab center himself and profits off the feeding of the system. His center, the Center for Professional Excellence takes part in such controversial practices as conversion therapy for homosexuality and branding such as a sexual addiction and perversion. Many have died as a result of such persecution for the profit that this man is addicted to. Please, stand up for yourself. Get an attorney and do not confide one bit in this individual or this system. Once you are in their web, they will take as much as they can.

Vanderbilt should FIRE him too! Dr Finlayson has a terrible beside manner, he is arrogant, he is rude, he is mean... NOT QUALITIES YOU WANT IN A PSYCHIATRIST!!! He does not seem to understand that he works for the patient, the patient is the person paying him for his service... he seems to feel that MD makes him entitled to take money from people and give whatever level of care he wants in return... this was my experience and I witnessed this same behavior when he interacted with a young mother AS SHE HELD HER CHILD!

This was positively the worst physician I have ever met. He is course and foul. He does not listen to his patients even to answers to his own questions. He is a bully and an antiquated dinosaur in his field. You would be better off seeking counsel from any per option possible. He simply does not care and this attitude is reflected in his staff and entire treatment team. Vanderbilt will be a better place when he is gone.
