Dr. Alka Sharma Kaushik, MD

At 72, I am particular when choosing a doctor. It took a lot of time asking friends, searching online and reading backgrounds before I was fortunate enough to find Dr Alka Kaushik. Dr Kaushik provides an outstanding quality of medical care while managing to emphasize prevention and a proactive approach. Dr Kaushik has a no nonsense, holistic style, which led to the development of a personalized and inclusive pain management regimen. She provided me with all of the options available to consider, and explained how the different approaches worked together to provide the most relief. To top it off, she was able to present all of the facts in a clear and concise manner that always included what I wanted or needed. My preferences were respected. 5 years under her care, I feel safe and see the wisdom of the choices we made over time which include: increased exercise, decreased medications, stress reduction, increased involvement with other clinics and doctors (for epidurals et al),… along with advice to develop a relationship with a surgeon so that I can trust them when the time comes. Not only is my pain now manageable, but I also lost 35lbs and my sugar and blood pressure are under control. Dr Kaushik provides excellent healthcare. You know where you stand immediately and what the next steps will look like. She is always willing to listen and is so smart. She uses her computer as part of “our team” to coordinate treatment. She can connect the dots between the computer and the real person. Additionally, her office provides a Patient Portal to keep everyone on the same page. Her courteous staff are willing to help you with anything. I wish this was a referral to her practice so that you could meet her. Unfortunately she is retiring soon to spend more time with her grandchildren and travel. It is so clear that she cares about people and is family oriented. I am very grateful for having benefitted from Dr. Kaushik’s master class skills, and very sad to see her go.

Dr Kaushik is always helpful. The appointments are on time and the office staff is polite.

It's was like groundhog day, the movie. Every visit she would ask the same questions like it was the first visit. My old pain management doctor retired and handed me over to her, he did not do me a favor. She would ask you a question and when you tried to answer, she would cut you off. She refused to refill one of my prescriptions, that only a pain management doctor could write, that kept my spinal seizures under control and told me to get another doctor to write it. No other doctors would only write one prescription, and divide prescriptions between the two doctors. She is rude and looks at the computer all the time. She has lied to us several times and we caught her at it. And the facility is fifthly. Using the restroom, was like climbing into a roll-off box. After two years of torture, we finally found a doctor that could take us. She is doing it for the money and could care less about what is happening to you.

Run don't walk , she is in it for the money.Doctor Alka dosen't listen to patient worried about how much medicine. Iwish Doctors would just be doctors.

Dr. Kaushik is the rudest doctor I have ever had the misfortune of encountering in my life!!!!!! She is ignorant and judgmental, which I'm pretty sure as doctors they are not supposed to judge. She has the bedside manner of a viper! She spends like two minutes with you and then precedes to tell you inaccurate information about your condition and never listens to a word you say. She judges you and tells you that you need to hire a nanny and a nurse for surgery, when I'm sorry not all of us make a doctor's salary to afford to do that. Also I raise my child no one else! and she sure does not need to tell me how to raise my child. She is the most unprofessional, rude and uncaring doctor. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone. If you have had the misfortune of being recommended to her or have an appointment with her, RUN,DO NOT SEE HER!!!!! That is the best advice I can give you.
