Dr. Alla Lerner-Brandon, MD

My time with this individual has been such an ordeal, I don’t know if I have the strength or trust to reveal such personal details to another mental health professional. My sessions with this so called “mental health professional” were completely one-sided and frigid. She was constantly checking her phone and giving me half of her attention. I wasn’t listened to or understood by this individual. I never felt fulfilled or satisfied after our sessions; if anything I felt more helpless after my experience with this “psychiatrist”. I will never completely feel comfortable with another person in this field thanks to this “psychiatrist”. If you want to feel genuinely heard and understood I strongly recommend against seeing this person.

I needed a first time appointment, which took me over a month to get, the restrictions to see her were at least 3 months of notes from a previous dr to even be seen. I had a crisis with my son and couldn't make my first appointment. Then when I asked to reschedule my first time appointment, they said I couldn't go unless I paid 2 missed appointment fees of $160 each. Don't bother trying to get help from this office, all they care about is their convenience and your money.

This doctor is difficult to work with, is always late, and isn't her patients' advocates.

I was a patient of Dr. Lerner-Brandon's, and during the time that I was seen by her, I never once felt that she was interested or invested in my health. She never once gave me an official diagnosis, seldom explained the medical decisions she was making, and did not listen to my concerns when I voiced them. I had severe side-affects from two separate medications, and instead of decreasing the dosage as would make sense, she increased the dosages to points where I was unable to function. When I had a health crisis, she acted as if seeing me was a waste of her time and acted less concerned about my health and more worried about her status as a doctor. In short, I do not feel confident in her abilities as a doctor and would advise all who are seeing her/are considering seeing her to attempt to find another physician if possible.

A non-caring attitude and not flexible. Not sure if I am diagnosed correctly and if the meds are working.

She is very understanding of my issues. She knows the right questions to ask to get further information. She is a great listener and wants the treatment to be something that the patient is most comfortable with above all else. She explains conditions and why they happen in a way that anyone can understand. I trust her completely.

My experiences with Dr. Lerner-Brandon have been everything I could have hoped for and more. She was helpful, attentive and compassionate. I can't recommend her enough!

Have been seeing her for about a year and the comments about her are true. She is neither compassionate nor sympathetic but that did not matter to me, I have a therapist and she is everything that Dr. Lerner-Brandon is not. Today, however, Dr.Lerner-Brandon acted very passive-agressive towards me and got defensive when I asked about the frequency of visits. She told me I could go elsewhere. I told her money was an issue and she suggested a free clinic. A conversation I had with her desk staff was miscommunicated to her and they said that I said the visits were a "waste of my time," I never spoke these words or even inferred this. I told her as much and she brushed it off. When I still felt as if the air was not clear I said, "I feel misrepresented here" and she asked "What's the problem?" Today she treated me with a lack of respect and worse than that, she couldn't have an honest, direct, adult conversation with me about something that bothered her. My trust in her is gone.

Dr. Lerner-Brandon is very dedicated to her patients. She has taken the time to call me on the weekend from her home to check on my well-being. She's the best.
