Dr. Allan Joel Belzberg, MD

Dr. Belzberg performed my schwonomma surgery recently and l was very impressed and pleased w the care and support I received from him. He was direct, honest about procedure, both risks and success rate, and was very professional throughout. He also had a great dry sense of humor which helped to lighten the mood when needed. Additionally, His senior office coordinator, Tonya was fantastic. She always responded quickly to any questions that arose. Overall, incredibly thankful to have been under his care for my procedure.

Truly the best! An amazing surgeon with decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge. After many misdiagnoses from my local doctors, Dr. Belzberg was able to quickly identify the issues causing my pain, addressed all of my questions and concerns, and performed a successful surgery!

Promised I wouldn''t experience chronic longterm pain after surgery. NOT TRUE!

The best there is. Took out a tumor that was called in-operable by my local doctors. I am perfect. He is everything people say he is, nice, caring, funny, and a brilliant surgeon

I had schwannoma and he seems like not care about me , and thnik made all my symptom up.....the worse thing is about the nurse in the office,she doesn't even know what she is talking about and and that is on behalf of J/H , just asham and wainting to over 1 hour, my hubby sat in the wainting room for a long time,,,,,terrible esoerience !!!!.......

Wonderful surgeon. Great bedside manners. Listens to the patients concerns, and responds with a very educated and caring response. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

I found this doctor to have been a total waste of my time. It took 9 weeks to get an appointment. Finally, on the day of my appointment I was scheduled for 9:30 am and was told to arive at 9:15. I sat in the waiting room till 10:30 and finally saw him at about 11:15am. He didn't seem to have a clue as to who I was (my first appointment). He made some jokes that I didn't find funny in the least and were somewhat offensive. In his examination, he told me that my elbow nerve was non local (able to meve from its intended place). When I repeated what he said, he asked who had told me that before. I said no one else had told me that. He became confused and asked how I knew in the first place. I started to wonder if he was on drugs or had not slept in a long while. As the visit went on, it became clear that he had not even looked at my MRI test (which was required before taking my appointment. He was surprised that I could even have an MRI done since I had a pacemaker. I then… had to tell him that John Hopkins Hospital (where his office is located) was one of only 3 locations in the entire USA that did such proceedures with pacemakers. He was surprised to learn of this fact. Finally, when I asked severak questions related to his diagnosis, he gave simplistic and what I thought were answers that I could have found on my own. He continued to make bad jokes about his not knowing much about blood pressure and told me that is what cardiologists and primary care docs were for. HE WAS A NEUROSURGEON and therefore above such lesser tasks. IN MY OPINION HE IS NOT ONLY A POOR DOCTOR, BUT ALSO A FAILURE AS A HUMAN BEING.

My husband had an extremely difficult and large tumor on a nerve that needed to be removed. Our local surgeons did not think they could get it out without paralizing his leg or even both legs. They thought my husband would be doomed to chronic pain and disability. Thanks to Dr. Belzberg he is pain free and has tremendous use of his leg. He was very caring and available to us through this whole terrifying process. We are very glad we travelled across the continent to see Dr. Belzberg.

The biggest complaint is the inexpilcable long waits (sometimes 2 hours past my appointment time.) But the worse thing is that I had to have my surgery "redone" because my surgery failed mainly due to lack of therapy and bracing.

I read his reviews before traveling 400 miles to see him and it was time and money well spent. I was the last patient on a Friday afternoon waiting over 90 minutes past my scheduled appointment. While expecting to be rushed, he was very apologetic for the lengthy delay. He answered every question I had completely and spent over an hour with my wife and me. We never felt rushed and he has a great "bedside" manner. This is a very gifted man. If you are needing a TOP neurosurgeon, expect to wait, but it is well worth it.
