Dr. Allan Burke is one of the best neurologist in the country and I have been seen and treated by him for last 35 years--at various facilities.

Always up to date on my medical chart, listens, explains and gives his full attention and I never feel rushed or unheard.

Dr Burke is the best. He's warm, caring & competent. He is willing to try different things to make me feel better.

Dr. Burke does not rush through things and is thorough.

The doctor can very easily explain things at a level I understand. All good no bad.

Dr Burke was very professional and apologized for the wait. He answered all my questions to my understanding and very patient. Did not rush the appointment.

Dr. Burke was very impatient, dismissive, and short during my appointment. He took a very gendered approach to the reoccurring pain I had in my head and neck, quickly assuming it was simply migraine related because I'm a woman. He did not take time to properly evaluate or diagnose my pain. Rather, Dr. Burke simply recommended aspirin and other pain killers. After speaking to other providers at Northwestern and outside of it, they have identified the root cause of my pain which is related to TMJ.

Dr. Burke is a throw back to the doctors of old. He spends time with his patients, he is easy to talk to, he is a human being, not a robot, he is not like a lot of other doctors who have no bedside manner and often seem to be suffering from Asperger's Syndrome. But most importantly while his manner is old fashioned, his knowledge is absolutely up to date. He is on top of the very latest treatments for migraines and neurological disorders. He cured a migraine disorder I had for 35 years which was badly treated by lots of other doctors and poorly maintained with a minor dose of non-narcotic medicine which is working to this day. It cleared up my headaches, gave me my life back and enabled me to have a productive life again. It has been a miracle. I swear by him. He has even gotten me to do some preventative things to prevent me from having a higher risk of stroke down the road. You must see this doctor. He is worth the waiting time in his office. But don't come late, he won't see you.
