Dr. Allan Joseph Morrison, MD

I can’t say enough good things about this doctor. I should have written this review ages ago when I saw him. It would’ve been about 2010 I believe. I was incredibly sick at only 28 years old, basically disabled watching my life deteriorate by the minute. Since I had no outward manifestations, and my bloodwork didn’t look too bad, most doctors didn’t believe me and thought it was all in my head. Dr. Morrison took the time to listen to me, not only believe me, but really investigate what could be going on. When it was too much of a mystery, he took the time to write the most kind letter and get me seen at Johns Hopkins. He is a special doctor, and I’ve always wanted to tell him that. I am doing well in part due to his belief and getting me help that I desperately needed. He’s not only a fantastic Dr, but he is a kind and caring human being.

In the early 90s when HIV+ AIDS was basically a death sentence, Dr. Morrison took care of me. On my very first visit with Dr. Morrison, he asked me to hop off the examining table and then he took a magic marker and began to write on the "table paper". He indicated where I "statistically" was that very day and the planned care he was about to prescribe to save me. The diagram he wrote on the paper completely covered the table and then he turned to me and said: You are going to live to be an old man. I am now 71 and doing well. He then ripped the paper off the table and handed it to me and I still have it and TREASURE IT! I wish they could clone Dr. Morrison. He has made the World better for so many and I thank him. What started as a routine check-up for liver status due to Hep C in 2002 - 2003 turned into a frightening but ultimately successful cure, due in no small part to Dr Morrison. As the bad news kept on coming, he stayed in my face, reminding me always that tho' my odds were not good, someone had to be in the small success rate group -- and why not me? He was constantly upbeat, honest and I could not have done a year of pegylated interferon/ribavarin injections without him and his staff. He was loathe to tell me I was 'cured' but, in fact, I was. Unpleasant and uncomfortable

Dr. Morrison took the time to get to know my father, to treat him with dignity, and to provide excellent treatment. This was comforting during a stressful stay at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Dr. Morrison is one of the finest DoctorsI have ever known...His demeanor is calming and caring, and his diagnoses of both myself and my daughter were 100% accurate and he did everything in his power to assist us with our medical needs. I recommended him to people both in Virginia and out of state, and he was always very helpful. The only difficult part is that he is such an exceptional Physician, that he is wanted everywhere to speak, so it is someewhat more difficult to set up immediate appointments....But, I know that wherever he is if I were to need him I would at least get a call and informaion on how to proceed. He is a rare breed of Doctor; and a blessing...
