Dr. Allan Steven Nadel, MD

Dr. Nadel is the head of the maternal fetal diagnosis group at MGH and he performed amniocentesis on me recently. He is caring and patient in explaining the pros and cons of to do or not to do an amnio. We met him twice and the first time I was not so sure that I REALLY wanted the procedure and backed out after 20 minutes of consultation with him. He did not show any slight sign of dipleasure with us for wasting his time. When we came back the 2nd time a week late, he and his two assistants did a fantastic job in locating a good spot for the needle and finished the procedure in a couple of minutes with no incident. He joked with us during the amnio to distract me. That was very sweet, but I was just too nervous to enjoy his jokes. I bed rested for the next 24 hours and took it easy for the 48 hours afterwards and now I am feeling just wonderful. If you want your amnio done, seek out Dr. Nadel at MGH.
