Dr. Allan Law Parker, DO

Sounds a little odd to read that a doctor is also a human being, doesn't it? I think in Dr. Allen's case it's not only important, he's earned it. Why? Because I've had my challenges with GI doctors in my 66 years of life. This is the first one who actually listens to me when I describe what's going on and then asks questions. He doesn't cut me off because he's in a hurry and he doesn't mind teaching me about things that affect my health and a bit beyond that when asked. And get this, when he's come to conclusion he then begins feeding back information in a specific rhythm that makes it easy to follow and understand. That might not makes sense to some, but it sure did for me the first time I shared info about an unusual event involving the occurrence of a Dieulafoy Lesion (these are rare in the US and do not often occur in the colon which is where mine was). During that event, I lost about half my blood volume because I was literally bleeding out and didn't realize it. Though this… event occurred before I met Dr. Parker, he took the time to educate me further on the medical history of the lesion and how odd it was for mine to be in the colon. He then set up a plan and trained me on how we would monitor any further bleeding events. Not long after he did that, I had a bleeding event that looked a lot like the lesion had either opened up or a new one had occurred. He arranged for a colonoscopy the next day given I didn't present with any other symptoms suggesting I was in danger. Dr. Parker verified the bleeding wasn't due to another lesion and sent me home. I haven't received this kind of detailed care from a GI since I was at the Mayo Clinic. Not sure what I'm going to do when he retires. :)

I can only say wonderful things about Dr. Parker. He is very understanding and concerned about his patients. He actually cares, and is in no rush to run out the door . He takes time to listen and then gives his advice. Very intelligent . Value his opinion greatly. His staff, especially Leah is truly concerned about his patients also.

Very knowledgeable and extremely respectful of his patients.
