Dr. Allan Bruce Plumser, MD

I’m sure he’s good at what he does and I'm sure he does get to the bottom of what is causing his patients problems, but his prime objective is clearly to get you to buy into his $5500 six month program, using long-winded speeches and scare tactics. His “program” claims to treat the Whole Body - with exercise, psychological counseling, chiropractic, and nutrition and more. But frankly, I don’t want all of that. I don’t need to spend $5500. Just run the tests, tell me what’s wrong/ what’s out of balance and what I need to do. Tell me to exercise and, Ok I’ll even meet with your physical trainer once for an exercise plan - but not weekly. And l’ll even meet with your nutritionist once for a diet plan, but NOT weekly. I don’t need or want a 6 - month $5500 “program.” His concern should have been helping me to get better, and not a -buy my program, or I can’t help you - attitude. Why not work with me a little. And the scare tactics - your diseases will progress. You will become sicker. In… 10 years you’ll have no quality of life. Ha! I will be fine, because I will find a doctor willing to help without selling me an overpriced “program” in a fancy office with a gym. I have a gym at home.

Dr is good but receptionist are not that great ,

Office staff- Very unhelpful and Incompetant and just dont care. Tried calling again the line is constantly busy.

I was very impressed by Dr. Plumser while my Fiance was admitted to the hospitial. Dr. Plumser consulted on her case and seem very brilliant and an all around great person. She went to him for follow up since we moved and she did not have a local GI doctor. On her first office visit after about a 10 minute exam and questions he told her that he need to preform an endoscopy. She has had this procedure several times before and over all tolerated it well we were less than concerned. We took the option to have the endoscopy done at RWJ and the staff was less then professional. However as soon as DR. Plumser entered the preop area the staff quickly became professional and polite. Reguardless of the fact he was an hour and a half late for the procedure. Directly following the procedure he came in to give his report, he found no unusual findings other than mild gallbladder wall thickening. He resomened that she have her gallbladder removed and offered no other solution. I began to… question his about his conclusion and I saw a very different side of this doctor. I ask his what the odds were that this surgery would solve the problem and he offered 50/50 odds at best then added that it could make the problem worse. I again began to ask more questions and see if there was an altertative. He stated that obviously I had no idea what I was talking about and that I should just listen to him. I ask that we receive a copy of his report and all images that he collected he inquired as to why. I stated that we would obtain a second opinion. He became very defensive and stated that if she did not choose to have the sugery that there was nothing else he could do for her. After leaving RWJ we returned home where she experience a great deal of discomfort. We noticed that she had a cut on her lip and the lip have become very sowlen. She felt as though she her throat was on fire, I attempted to contact the doctor several times with no responce. This was her third endoscopy and she never had a reaction like this. Later in the night she developed edema (swelling) around the right side of her neck. I am slightly angry to say the least that she was treated so disrespectfully by this doctor durring and after the procedure. I am also concerned that he objected to a second opinion as well as refusing to treat her as a patient if she did not undergo surgery. Several weeks later we were able to get a second opinion and that opinion was that their was nothing wrong with her gallbladder and that she had IBS. She was prescribed medication for IBS and with in 2 week her symptoms where gone. I find it very hard to believe that a solution as easy as a simple medication could be overlooked by doctor such as DR. Plumser. I offer you our experience and allow you to make your own decisions. Personally I would obtain a second opinion if Dr. Plumser recomended surgery.

He removed a polyp during colonoscopy. Said I had to go back and have another exam in one year. Went to another doctor who said the location and size did not warrant another for 5years. He did the same with a friend of mind. Second opinion and the Dr said he has risking the patient with a procedure that is not needed. Tried to get my records to go to a new Dr and they gave me such a hard time I had to lie and say I was moving! He should not be practicing. Find someone you can trust. He and his staff are not competent. The fish stinks from the head as my grandmother would say

He over diagnosed me and a friend. I went to get a second opinion because some of what he told me did not make sense. He is a. Money doctor who scares his patients. I will stay clear of him and his mean staff.

Started out okay as it seemed as if the Dr. is listening to you carefully and gave you adequate time. However, after a few visits for a chronic illness, was very dissapointed in Dr. Plumser. I found him to be arrogant and threatened when you want to have say in your treatment choices. If your looking for a "partner" in your treatment, I would keep looking. Not impressed.

I always need to call the office to get test results - they never call me first.

Excellent bedside manner and always willing to answer any of my questions no matter how small, with a smile!Extremely knowledgable and would trust as a doctor to my entire family.
