Dr. Allen Maurice Evans, MD

I waiting a month before deciding to write this. I had to really think about it. Love Dr Allen Evans. He was a great doctor! Such a good man. I had been suffering for years from fatigue and weight gain and he found what other doctors could not. Even though my thyroid labs came back normal, my thyroid was swollen. I have hypothyroidism and have suffered for years. The synthroid he put me on gave me my life back. He also did a great job with my sinus surgery. However, the doctor is first rate. But, his staff treated me very badly. Mainly one person. Her name is Cindy. I was trying to get an appointment with Dr Allen Evans because I've been having chronic sinus infections recently and he told me to come back so he could adjust my thyroid meds and if I started having infections. Well, I had an appointment a few months back and he had an emergency and everyone waited for about 2 hours. The staff didn't know when he would be back so I had to cancel and reschedule because I… had no more paid time off due to being sick so much with the sinus infections. When I was able to call and reschedule I was sent to Cindy. I said I was calling to reschedule and talked about adjusting my meds. I said I had to leave last time due to the doctor had an emergency. I was very nice and not giving attitude at all. She said, Dr Evans is an ENT and your need to see another doctor for your thyroid and if you can't wait for the doctor then you can just go find another doctor. I was so caught off guard and have never been spoken to this way by medical staff. It made me feel really bad because I had already lost faith in the medical system and Evans gave me some hope I could live with energy again. Sadly, I won't be seeing this great doctor again because I don't feel like being abused by his staff. I am just grateful he was able to catch the thyroid problem and do my surgery. If I have problems in the future I have no problem driving up to Stanford or to see an out of town doctor if I can't find someone locally. Health issues are hard enough to deal with and can be private without having someone abuse you for them. This woman Cindy should be spoken to. I wonder how many patients he has lost by her speaking to them that way.

He was referred due to his high skill in surgery but he deserves a ZERO with talking to a patient. He is dismissive, argumentative, and belittling. He never looked at my face when talking to me and laughed when I asked about surgery that the other doctor recommended. Staff was friendly but it is not worth going to see him. Circled back and let the dr know that referred him about the specifics of Dr Evans behavior. That doctor apologized for Dr Evans.

Great Dr., Staff needs a lot of training in all areas!!!

Dr Evans is a great surgeon and knows what he is talking about. He took my thyroid out and I was home the next day .8 months later and you can barely see the scar. I would highly recommend dr Evans . he is funny and a great guy. As far as wait times good things come to those who wait :) Happy holidays

Great dr but the wait time is ridiculous! Always at least 1 hour late!

Dr. Evans is a great doctor! His bedside manner is a bit dry, but he makes up for what he lacks in professionalism. My diagnosis and treatment were quick and painless. I never had to suffer a single moment of doubt with him. His office is a whole other story. Disorganized, slow, and rude, every. single. time. And their bathroom is filthy. Still though, Evans is worth it.

Excellent surgeon- definitely one of the best in neck surgery. Cares about his patients overall and has good bedside manner, as well. His knowledge and skill are worth the office wait and dealing with a clueless nurse on the phone.

Dr. Evans does need guidance in bedside manner which is atrocious. Training in the Volume of his voice is required. Even though I am hearing-impaired I can still hear when he raises his voice. His loud suggestions were not appreciated! He must remember his customers pay his bills.

I have no doctor complaints - - he is great. The same cannot be said for the staff who do not return calls, failed to list an appointment THEY called and made causing me two trips for one appointment. Their refusal to return calls because it is not their department is apalling. Worthless bunch of robots who have no social skills and should be fired!!! They would not be working for me. One of my friends found another ENT due to their refusal to call back reguarding a bleeding ear. Again, they would be fired!!
