Dr. Allen Saks

During my wife’s c-section, she couldn’t breathe due to the epidural anesthesia. Although her oxygen saturation was fine, as reassured by the anesthesiologist at the time— she felt like she couldn’t take a deep breath and was frightened about suffocating. We talked to our OB, who got Dr. Saks to investigate what occurred. He came into our maternity ward room- polite, courteous and reassuring. Explained that this actually occurs quite often, and that the anesthesiologist could’ve done better to explain what was occurring. But it is completely normal to have this feeling. We had a prolonged labor so the extra spinal anesthesia probably compounded to cause this reaction. But nevertheless, Dr. Saks took the time to explain in a compassionate fashion the whole situation. This event was traumatizing and Dr. Saks cared enough to take time to explain and reassure us.
