Dr. Starr is a graduate of Gannon University and Georgetown School of Dentistry. In 1977 he began his private practice in Erie, PA and has remained on the cutting edge of dentistry, embracing new technologies as they became available. Dr. Starr was the first dentist to introduce the Dental Laser to the city in 1990 when the FDA approved the Nd Yag Laser. Â
Dr. Starr was the first dentist to introduce Dental Lasers to Erie in 1990. For 3 years he taught Laser Dentistry for American Dental Laser, teaching other dentists this new method of addressing some common (and some not-so-common) dental needs. He is a member and one of the founders of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the benchmark of the best Laser Dentists in the world.  He has continued to remain in the forefront with new technologies, being the only dentist in Erie with 5 different lasers of different wavelengths.Â
