Dr. Allison Naiquan Zhang, MD

If you are part of Stanford and have a bad experience, they do not allow you to change providers, so avoid this team at all costs. I found them so focused on volume and treating as many patients as possible that it was impossible to schedule follow-up, even when the procedures were not successful. I stuck with the practice for two years, hoping things would get better, but the staff is consistently rude and dismissive. I found it impossible to schedule appts, even when the doctor suggested I do so. I was hung up on or transferred to the wrong department four different times in one day (and, yes, I decided after that many times it had to be intentional). If Stanford had allowed me to find a better fit, and a team that knows how to communicate and work with a patient, I would have moved on, but forcing me to stay with this group after two botched procedures and the poor communication is just too much. I figured a review in writing was needed. In addition to those two issues, I received… the wrong instructions, instructions with misspellings, and inaccurate appt notes from Dr. Zhang. There is a big disclaimer about using speech-to-text software and the notes not being edited, but they should have some semblance of accuracy (my age was off by 5 years). In 2024, when my first problems happened, the office manager lied about trying to contact me to resolve the scheduling issues. I am surprised that Stanford has come to this, but they've broken my trust at this point.
