Dr. Alok Pratap Pasricha, MD

A friend told me I should see this doctor to look at my MRI'S he got upset at me because he does not do MRI'S, so I had to find a Neuro Surgeon. I was polite to everyone. One year later... I got a referral to see about changing my seizure medication & the front desk lady & Dr. Pasricha are holding an invisible grudge for something I had nothing to do with. Non-professional, & Very childish indeed.

Dr. Pasricha is the best, most attentive doctor I have ever had. I saw him in his office last year for an evaluation and some tests. He takes his time and seems to really care about the patients health concerns. Todays visit was a follow up to see how I was doing and to refill my prescription. Wish all my doctors were like this.

I found it difficult to communicate with him, seemed to stop me if I tried to talk. He seemed in a bit of a hurry as though he was being rushed which definitely made me feel like my case was not important to him or that it was not of any value. Would not recommend. Kept blaming everything on aging.

Once diagnosis obtained he calmed my fears about the diagnosis!

I found Dr. Pasricha to be a nice person. He wasn't rushed and he communicated well. He gave me options for treatment and possible side effects. When I said that I thought I didn't need any treatment at this point, he was fine with that.

Difficult to communicate with and seemed in a hurry. Would not recommend.

I had seen Dr. Pasricha for years and until my last visit (last as opposed to most recent) had loved him. He had always been very attentive, compassionate, and concerned. He spent plenty of time with me and his diagnoses and treatments were always spot on. However, during my last visit, I mentioned that the P.A. in my primary care physician's office had asked me to inquire of him if he had definitively ruled out MS. This is something that had never occurred to me and was brought up, initially, by Dr. Pasricha himself. He had said that if I were a younger person my symptoms would have led him to suspect MS, but that because of my age and history he was certain we were dealing with small vessel disease. His response to my question was that I was lying, that there was nothing in my PCP's case notes about MS and that he would not treat me further without my undergoing a brain MRI to prove that I don't have MS. I told him that I do not believe that I have MS and that it is not… necessary to do an MRI, but he insisted. During the visit I also told him that I had to discontinue one of the medications for my tremors, because it was discovered that I have severe sleep apnea and I had been advised that the medication was contraindicated in people with sleep apnea. He said that was fine, but that he would provide no alternative treatment for my tremors. I followed through with the MRI, but the more that I thought about it the more that I realized that I no longer wanted to be treated by a doctor that did not believe me and insisted upon unnecessary procedures to satisfy himself that he had proven to me that he was right and I was wrong. I never returned for follow-up.

Arrogant. Draws conclusions without support. Doesn't listen to the patient. Doesn't review records. Conveys erroneous information to the detriment of the patient. May well be harmful to the patient.

Dr Pasricha listened to my list of symptoms and ordered the appropriate tests. He was kind when he told me the results and answered all my questions.

I hope this guy is a good Dr. He has about as much personality as a dead frog and bedside manner same. He has a God complex, treats patients like they are stupid and ignores questions. I had another appointment scheduled and just cancelled it. Not going to spend money to be aggravated and irritated. I can get that for free at my office.
