Dr. Alonso Andrade, MD

Since the first visit for breast cancer he made me feel uneased. His demeanor was so serious and overbearing. His decisions are very drastic to the point of being cold. He wanted to do a double mastectomy and did not offer reconstruction during surgery. I later found out that Texas Tech does have a female breast reconstructive surgeon. I just wished I had insurance to have done surgery with someone else. I liked the resident better that attended me during surgery. Dr. Andrade did explain all options though, explained results and cared for my future health.

After waiting for over four hours to receive inconclusive biopsy results for my 74 year old mother. He had the audacity to tell me to treat him with respect, while he should have apologized to my mother for making her wait for so long for those results. I do not understand why this doctor could not speak to my mother in clear non-medical terms, that I was able to comprehend and later I was able to explain to her. Why was it necessary for him to use his arrogance towards my mother and I? As I later had to explain to him, she is going through extreme stress during a grieving process for the loss of my father and her husband. Unacceptable! If this doctor is overbooked or in a bad mood, he is not in the position to be treating an elderly woman with that demeanor, much less tell me to treat him with respect. I only maintained my composure for the sake of my mother. Very disgusted. Not my problem if he is having a bad day or is not competent to handle his job. Adriana Esparza-Alvarez

I went to Dr. Andrade for a robotic hernia surgery and the healing and pain were all much better than when I had my previous hernia repair in California. Office staff were very helpful. Wait time may have been a little longer than I expected based on other reviews, but it was totally worth it. He is very thorough and takes his time to really listen to your concerns. I hope I don't need to, but if I need another surgery I would definitely go back.

Super simple. Wait time was never morethan 30 minutes. Staff was really friendly and made me feel welcome. Dr. Andrade did a phenomenal job. There was very little pain. Recovery was fast. Bandages came off and it looks very well done and there will probably be very minimal scarring. Thank you and your team!
