Dr. Alyssa Larin Moyer, MD

Over about the past two weeks we have experienced the oversight of Dr Moyer’s attention in the care of my 87 yr old father-in-law at York Hospital, where he was hospitalized with severe bile duct blockage-related infection of associated organs including liver, pancreas, kidneys and gall bladder. In the process of diagnosis there was discovery of a tumor in the lung and immediate biopsies where initiated leading to a positive result for cancer of the lung. Dr Moyer was the physician entrusted with this period of care and diagnosis coordination, and to this particular performance of duties I am bound to record our sincerest gratitude. Dr Moyer consistently (and throughout the hospital stay) took the time to communicate with us as to the unfolding protocols relating to treatment of his exhibiting infection and to diagnosis of lung cancer - with all the accompanying intuition, lucidity and consideration that could be expected or even desired. She was very responsive to… requests for bedside consults and telephone conferencing with family members scattered around the state - and that even post his discharge to Rehab when we were sort of confused and quite clueless as to next steps as we were coalescing our integration into his next phase of treatment (Rehab - which facility was sadly not very well adept to facilitate an effective transition with attendant information disclosure or accessibility) After three days at the above referenced Rehab we were still inadequately appraised by the facility as to treatment protocols and expectations. We reached out and back to Dr Moyer with our concerns. Within less than an hour Dr Moyer returned our call and facilitated a conference call to answer our questions and provide enlightening information as to the current situation and the way forward. We are now embarking on the next stage of my father-in-law’s care coordination with the Rehab Hospital and the attending Oncologist and we must extend our immense gratitude to Dr Moyer for her care and concern going past the call of duty !

dr.moyer should never see another patient they would have a better chance to live .
