Dr. Amada Isabel Almase, MD

I DO NOT recommend Dr. Almase. I have been treated by her on and off for about 10 years and her bedside manner has become terrible. She is aggressive and unprofessional, over-prescribes medications, switches medications constantly, ignores phone calls, is 20-30 minutes late for almost every appointment and her scheduling service only responds after 1-3 follow up calls. During transition(s) from one medication to another, I would call her for medical assistance because the medication wasn't working and as a result I was having a hard time making it through the day, distraught. She would at times return the call, other times I would have to call several times in order to get a return call (after the 48-hour time frame) and the second to last time I called her she berated me and told me I couldn't continue to call her every couple weeks, even though SHE was the one prescribing the medication(s) that wasn't working. She never returned the last call I made to her when I was suffering… immensely and when I attempted to reschedule my appointment, her scheduling service never returned my call. She left me, a patient requiring medication refills, high and dry. For all she knows, I'm dead! Highly suggest avoiding this doctor.

She is a very aggressive pill pusher and her bedside manner is lacking. I've been on the same low dose of an antidepressant for years and didn't want to change, but she suggested changes at every appointment. The final straw came when I sent her an email asking her process on having some paperwork filled out for my employer. Her response was to berate me for sending confidential information via email (what??) and say she would only fill out the paperwork if I was going to increase my meds and be seen more frequently. Um, money grubber much???? No thanks to this doctor; I've found a new provider.

Dr. Almase is a wonderful, integrated Psychiatrist. She is professional, caring, has excellent recommendations, and an amazing bedside manner! Highly recommend. She has been a lifesaver for myself and our family.

Initially, I experienced Dr Almase as Warm and compassionate. After seeing her for a few years I asked for any reports of my appointments. She either does not write reports or lost them. She did not ever respond to my several messages over a period of weeks and months..nothing. She did not respond to my case worker regarding a claim either.

Dr. Almase is wonderful. She is kind, compassionate and very insightful. She has helped me in so many ways and I always walk away from each appointment with a huge "aha." I highly recommend her.

Do not give Dr. Alamase your credit card information! I did and when her or someone in her office thought they charged the wrong copay for visits they took almost 100.00 out of my account without informing me.

The best psychiatrist myself and my son have seen.

Called to try to make an appt. Rec'd call back from male (assistant) after a day asking for basic info and insurance. He stated he would speak to the dr about an apt for my son (who, by the way, is in desperate need of psychiatric care). Never received a follow up call.

I have seen dr.almase for only about a year and a half now But she Is for sure the best psychiatric doctor I haveEver seen, she is very educated and courteous. She hasBeen great, great location and if the wait is a little long it meansThat she is taking her time with her patients and that is veryImportant. I give her a 5 out of 5, I am sad that because I amMoving I can no longer have her as my psychiatrist.

dr. almase does not immediately reach for the prescription pad ... a welcome change from most psychiatrists. she listens and cares ... would recommend highly
