I was a patient of Dr. Chak in OKC for 10 years. At first I thought he had a total lack of empathy. Once I started asking him very direct and honest questions about my disease I began an incredible journey to stability. He has NO touchy, feely bedside manor. He does not coddle. But if you want someone who REALLY knows both neuroscience and psychiatry and will work to find the best combo of meds for YOU, he's the one. I will be forever grateful.

I suffer disabling bipolar 1 disorder. Dr. Chakruburtty has been my psychiatrist for 16 years. One missed appt. and he fired me! I'm disabled, and don't drive: both facts he knows! I live hours from any psychiatric help, yet he FIRED me. 16 Years; think about it before you employ this man! In process of filing ethic violation!

Dr. Chak is very mean spirited and does not relate to his patients well. He is very difficult and seems to be very hard to deal with.

This doctor has issues of his own that interfere with his practice. I found this out while a patient of his and saw up-close his explosive temper. I have since heard he has a "reputation" of being irrational, troubled, a poor doctor and people are amazed he is still allowed to practice. Count me as one of those SHOCKED that he is still practicing.The odd thing is, the first time I met with him I went home thinking I had found a *wonderful* doctor. It wasn't for 3 or 4 sessions that I realized he needs more help than I have EVER needed.Stay far, FAR away!
